Odisha Records Second-Highest State GST Collection in December 2023

Bhubaneswar: Odisha achieved a significant milestone in its State GST collection, recording the second-highest-ever figure in December 2023. The collection amounted to Rs 2,578.05 crore, marking an impressive growth rate of 70.07% compared to December 2022, where the collection stood at Rs 1,515.88 crore.

The cumulative State GST collection, which includes OGST and IGST settlement, reached Rs 17,419.61 crore by December 2023. This reflects a substantial growth rate of 31.61% in comparison to the collection of Rs 13,235.52 crore up to December 2022.

The CT & GST Commissionerate in Odisha revealed that the total collection under various Acts, such as OGST, IGST, VAT, Entry Tax, and Profession Tax, amounted to Rs 3,665.23 crore in December 2023. This showcased a robust growth rate of 45.98% from the collection of Rs 2,510.86 crore in December 2022. The progressive collection under all Acts up to December 2023 reached Rs 26,089.84 crore, demonstrating a growth rate of 21.68% compared to the same period in 2022.

The state recorded a Gross GST collection (CGST+IGST+SGST+Cess) of Rs 4,351.42 crore in December 2023, exhibiting a growth rate of 12.90% over the collection of Rs 3,854.29 crore in December of the previous year. The cumulative Gross GST collection for the 2023-24 fiscal year, up to December 2023, amounted to Rs 39,539.67 crore, reflecting a growth of 10.08% over the corresponding period in the financial year 2022-23.

Furthermore, the CT & GST Commissionerate reported an increase in waybill generation, with 22.49 lakhs generated in December 2023 compared to 19.66 lakhs in December 2022.
