Opposition Creates Ruckus As Odisha Assembly Budget Session Kicks Off

Bhubaneswar: Congress MLAs create a ruckus in the House as a mark of protest against Naba Das while BJP lawmakers boycott the address of Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal to the Assembly on the first day of the budget session.

The Budget Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly kicked off with a stormy note. The House began at 11 am with the customary address of Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal.

Congress MLAs rushed near the podium and created a ruckus as a mark of protest against Naba Das murder and the alleged deteriorating law and order situation during the address of Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal. Similarly, the BJP MLAs boycott the address of Governor Lal and staged a dharna at the entrance of the House.

The session will commence in two phases. The first phase will be held from February 21 to March 1st and the second from March 10th till April 6th.
