Paid Period Leave: Union Minister Anupriya Patel Extends Support To Odisha Girl Ranjeeta’s Campaign

New Delhi: With an aim to campaign for paid period leave, Odisha’s Ranjeeta Priyadarshini has got support from various states.

Along with the announcement of more than ten companies in Rajasthan, Delhi, UP, and Odisha to give one day of paid leave to their women employees.

The ministers of the Centre and the states have also assured to take some steps in this direction at the government level.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel, called on Ranjeeta Priyadarshini to Delhi, met her, and discussed regarding her campaign.

Patel highly appreciated the Paid Period Leave campaign and said that the campaign on which Ranjeeta is working is very much needed at present as this matter is related to half the population of the country.

She will also talk to the government in this regard at her level. Ranjeeta Priyadarshini Also met Uttar Pradesh Hon.ble Labour Minister Anil Rajbhar during her UP tour. Rajbhar said that he will apprise the state government about this sensitive matter so that any legal provision can be made on it.

Ranjeeta also met the President of Aadhi Aabadi Sena Ms. Aruna Singh in UP. She has given her support and requested Ministry for taking positive steps regarding the paid period leave campaign.

Till now Avancar Group of Delhi, Mosho Vision Private Limited Company, Kanyadan Foundation, Herbal International Private Limited Company of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan,
Roots to Bloom of Lucknow, Little Millennium Preschool Kursi Road, Bijnor’s Abhisha Paid Manufacturing Company, Abhisha Foundation and Siba Group, and Sakshi Handloom in Sambalpur, Odisha started giving one day of paid leave to their women employees during menstruation.

What is Paid Period Leave Campaign?

Ranjeeta Priyadarshini told that working women have to face a lot of difficulties during menstruation. In such a situation, if they get one day of paid leave, then it is convenient for them. Any legal provision can be made in this regard under Articles 15(3) and 42 of the Constitution.
