Lightning Kills One, Injures Two Others in Aul of Kendrapara Dist

Kendrapara: One person died and at least two persons were injured when lightning struck them in Aul in Kendrapara district of Odisha on Sunday afternoon.

According to reports, this mishap occurred during a sudden thunderstorm in the area. Three farmers Karthik Das, Pitambar Das and Lakshmidhar Das of Kalaspur panchayat under the Aul police station were working in the field.

During the thundershower, they took shelter in a nearby shed. But a bolt of lightning struck the thatched roof of the shed.

The three injured were rushed to the local medical center. Lakshmidhar died and the two others wereseriously injured peasants are undergoing treatment.
