Lightning Kills Youth in Balasore Dist, Another Injured

Balasore: A youth died in the Balasore district of Odisha when he was struck by lightning on Monday.

According to reports, in this incident of lightning strike at Tukurihazira village under Bhograi block in Balasore district, a youth was killed and another youngster was critically injured.

The deceased was identified as Ranjan Parmanik.

According to locals, the son of Mrityunjay Ghadai of Pasarbindha village was seriously injured in this incident. He has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.

The IMD has warned about the possibility of thunderstorm and lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph along with light to moderate rain in some parts of districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak within the next two hours.
