Patient Jumps Off AIIMS-Bhubaneswar’s 5th Floor; Dies

Bhubaneswar: A patient died on Saturday afternoon after jumping off from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Hospital building in Bhubaneswar.

The deceased has been identified as Mahendra Swain, a resident of the Puri district.

Swain was undergoing treatment at the surgery ward, which is on the fifth floor of the premier hospital. He allegedly jumped off the window of the ward.

Though the exact cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained, it is presumed that Swain might be either under severe mental stress owing to his disease or not satisfied with the treatment he was receiving at the hospital.
