PM Modi to Visit Odisha in First Week of March Ahead of Elections

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is gearing up for another visit to Odisha, scheduled for the first week of March, ahead of the twin elections in the state.

President of BJP’s Odisha unit Manmohan Samal disclosed this information during a media briefing in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. Samal indicated that the Prime Minister’s itinerary, likely to focus on the coastal region, is expected to include a program in Chandikhole, Jajpur district.

PM Modi’s forthcoming visit will mark his second trip to Odisha within a month, following his recent visit to Sambalpur on February 3. During that visit, PM Modi inaugurated projects totalling over Rs 68,000 crore. This time around, with elections looming, PM Modi is anticipated to emphasize the benefits of various Central schemes being implemented in the state. He is also expected to urge party workers to engage in door-to-door outreach efforts to educate citizens about the initiatives under the ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’.

The significance of PM Modi’s visit is heightened amidst speculation surrounding a supposed understanding between the BJP and the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha. Criticism from Congress leaders characterizing both parties as two sides of the same coin adds to the political backdrop of Modi’s upcoming trip.
