Similipal National Park reopens with ban on Liquor

Mayurbhanj: The Similipal National Park in the Mayurbhanj district, which remained closed for several months has now reopened for tourists.

Visitors are allowed to enter the sanctuary through Jashipur and Pithbata gates from 6 am and will remain open till 9 pm every day from today.

As per a statement released by the STR officials, a maximum of 35 four-wheeler-carrying visitors will be allowed entry after getting the necessary permit at the Jashipur entry point while only 25 vehicles will get entry at the Pithabata point.

Visitors can book tickets online on a first come and first serve basis by logging into http://similipal.com and http://odishatourism.gov.in.

The Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) has strictly prohibited the entry of plastic and polythene products and liquor inside the park.

Worth mentioning, the Similipal Sanctuary was closed for visitors from June 15 with the onset of the monsoon as the roads inside it got damaged due to rain.

The Similipal National Park comprising the Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) located in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district is spread over 2,750 sq km.
