Speaker Holds All-Party Meeting Ahead Of Winter Assembly Session

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Winner Session of the Odisha Assembly, Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha on Monday chaired an all-party meeting.

The Speaker called the meeting to seek cooperation from all the members for the smooth running of the House.

Arukha said that the members of the Press who were earlier allowed to the Press Gallery before the onset of the pandemic will be allowed to do so.

Electronic media will be allowed to gather news during ‘Question Hour’ as they used to before the pandemic, he added.

The Speaker further informed that it was decided in today’s meeting that members who are sick can apply to participate in the proceedings of the House through videoconferencing.

The winter session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will commence from November 24 and will continue till December 31.

As per a notification issued by the Assembly Secretariat on Thursday, the supplementary budget for the financial year 2022-23 will be presented before the House on the first day of the session.

The session will have 33 working days, of which, six days have been marked for private members’ business days. There will be no meetings on five Sundays.
