Winter Session Of Odisha Assembly Begins; Archana Nag & Farmers’ Issues May Take Centre Stage

Bhubaneswar: The winter session of the Odisha state Assembly is all set to begin today. This will be the first such session without Covid-19 restrictions and will continue till December 31.

As per the schedule, the winter session will run from 10.30 AM to 1.30 PM and from 4 PM to 7 PM. On the first day, the House will convene at 11 AM. The opposition – BJP and Congress are expected to attack the state government over a variety of problems, including the recent Archana Nag honeytrap case, farmers’ rights, and mandi “mismanagement” issues.

The supplemental budget for the fiscal year 2022–2023 will be submitted to the House as scheduled. There will be a total of 33 working days, including six days for private members.

Further, the assembly will be under a three-tier security zone led by the Bhubaneswar DCP. 28 police platoons will be deployed to execute the same.

Additionally, five control rooms have been set up to monitor the general public’s movement around the assembly.
