Odisha: Subhadra Yojana Enrollment Hits 50 Lakh; First Installment on Sept 17 for Those Applying Before Sept 15

Bhubaneswar: As many as 50 lakh women have already signed up for the Odisha government’s Subhadra Yojana, revealed Deputy Chief Minister and Women & Child Development Minister Pravati Parida today.

According to Parida, those who register for the scheme by September 15 will receive the first installment in their bank accounts on September 17.

To raise awareness about the scheme, the state government will hold a Padayatra across Odisha on September 15, including in every gram panchayat. A significant rally will also be held in Bhubaneswar, starting at Giridurga temple and ending at Rama Devi University.

The Subhadra Yojana, targeting women aged 21 to 60, is expected to benefit over 1 crore women across Odisha. The scheme will be implemented between the 2024-25 and 2028-29 fiscal years, with a budget allocation of Rs 55,825 crore.

Beneficiaries will receive Rs 10,000 annually in two installments – one on Raksha Bandhan and the other on International Women’s Day (March 8). Over five years, beneficiaries will receive a total of Rs 50,000.

Registration for the scheme began on September 1, and the programme is scheduled to be officially launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17.
