The water level of Hirakud is decreasing, now there is 621.02 feet of water

Sambalpur: The rain has stopped somehow. As a result, the flood water is gradually decreasing in the Hirakud Reservoir. Now there are 621.02 feet of water in Hirakud. At present, flood drainage is continuing through 20 gates.

Similarly, 2.16 lakh cusecs of water is entering every second while 3.54 lakh cusecs of water is leaving every second.

The maximum water storage capacity of Hirakud Reservoir is 630 feet.

It is worth noting that due to continuous rain in the upper and lower reaches, the water level in Diamond was increasing. As a result, the flood water was being drained through 40 gates in Hirakuda. Due to the discharge of water in such a large amount, Mahanadi and Tar branch rivers have been flooded. Floodwaters have entered the floodplains. So that people are facing non-existent problems. Still, some people of  Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Balasore, and Bhadrak districts are underwater.
