Fatal Car Crash Claims 3 Lives Including a Couple from Odisha in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: A speeding car driven by an inebriated youth ran amok on Rushikonda Beach Road in Visakhapatnam on Monday night, killing three people, including a young couple from Odisha.

The car first crashed into the divider and a tree, before colliding with a motorbike on the opposite side of the road. The couple on the motorbike, Prithvi Raj (28) and Priyanka (21) were killed on the spot. Manikumar (25), one of the six car occupants, also died at the scene.

The police said that the group of youngsters in the car had consumed liquor and had caused trouble on the road, breaking liquor bottles at Sagar Nagar arch, and snatching a mobile phone from a man.

The driver of the car, identified as Kiran Kumar (22), has been arrested. He has been charged with rash driving, causing death by negligence, and other relevant sections of the IPC.

Authorities have registered a case and initiated a detailed investigation into the incident.
