3 Killed in Deadly Bike-SUV Head-On Collision in Balangir

Balangir: Three individuals were killed in a deadly road accident on the Loisingha-Bharasuja road near Karkachia Square in Bolangir district, Odisha.

The victims, identified as Rajesh Patel of Rota, his brother-in-law Tulsiram Patel of Sadeipali, and Suranjan Patel of Kusanga, were involved in a fatal accident, according to the police.

Reports suggest that the unfortunate incident took place while the trio was travelling on a motorcycle from Rota village to Balangir. The collision occurred when a high-speed SUV collided head-on with their bike in the vicinity of Karkachia Square.

Locals, aided by a few employees from the Electricity department, promptly came to their rescue and swiftly transported them to a nearby hospital. Tragically, the medical professionals declared them deceased upon arrival.

Following the accident enraged locals vented their anger by vandalizing the SUV and physically assaulting its driver. The authorities were promptly notified, and the Loisingha Police arrived at the scene to commence an investigation. “We have confiscated the SUV and taken the driver into custody,” stated a police official.

The authorities are actively probing the circumstances surrounding the mishap, aiming to ascertain the exact cause of the accident and hold any responsible parties accountable.
