Bhubaneswar: Over 20 people were injured in a group clash in Padmakesharpur, located in the Patia area of Odisha’s capital, in the early hours of Friday. The incident was fueled by long-standing enmity between the two groups and involved the hurling of stones and bottles.
The Mancheswar police swiftly responded to the situation and brought it under control. To prevent further incidents, two platoons of police officers were deployed in the locality. In addition, prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC have been imposed in the area.
Notably, a similar clash had occurred in Padmakesharpur on September 1, resulting in over 10 injuries. In response, the police had apprehended approximately 20 individuals linked to the clash.
The police are currently investigating the latest incident and have arrested several people. The injured victims are receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.
