Will Resign If Anyone Provides Proof Of Congress-BJD Deal Over Padampur Bypoll: Sarat

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Congress’ intra-party conflict is seeming to be an unstoppable one. While the back-to-back by-poll defeat of Congress in Odisha indicates the party’s debacle, senior leaders have indirectly accused Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Sarat Patnaik of by-poll results.

Senior Congress leader and Jatni MLA Suresh Kumar Routray indirectly countered Patnaik saying there was a deal between Congress and BJD over the Padampur by-election.

After such a remark from Routray, OPCC President Patnaik refuted all allegations and said that he would resign from the post if anyone provides proof of this allegation.

“Now the party is going through a bad situation. Please do not spread such fake news. Neither I nor any member of the party has done such anti-party work. If you are so confident about it, then please provide concrete evidence to support it. If it comes true, I will resign today,” Patnaik said to media persons.

“So please don’t provide the wrong information. Along with this, we are seeing how our dream of a 90-seat mission will be fulfilled. So I will discuss the same with the senior leaders of the party after I return from Delhi. After that, if any information of such incident comes to the fore, strict action will be taken against him,” he added.
