Barsha Singh Bariha Takes Oath as MLA in Odisha Assembly

Bhubaneswar: Barsha Singh Bariha, the newly elected MLA of the Padampur assembly constituency, took oath in Odisha Assembly.

Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha administered the oath to Barsha Singh Bariha.

BJD candidate Barsha Singh Bariha defeated BJP’s Pradip Purohit with a margin of over 42,000 votes in the Padampur byelection.

By the end of the counting of votes after round 23, Barsha secured 1,19, 512 votes. BJP’s Pradip Purohit secured 77,447 votes in his favour.

Congress candidate Satya Bhusan Sahu won a total of 3548 votes in the crucial Padampur by-election.

A total of 10 candidates were contesting the Padampur byelection battle.

The bypoll was conducted on December 5 and the result was announced on December 8.
