Woman Devotee Dies, Another Critical During Puja at Chadak Mela in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: A woman devotee from Gumuriapal village in West Bengal’s East Medinipur district, passed away while offering prayers at Chadak Mela in Odisha’s Balasore district.

As per reports, the devotee, identified as Tulsi Meedha fell ill suddenly during the puja and was immediately attended to by onsite health officials. Despite medical assistance, she succumbed to her condition.

Additionally, another individual is currently receiving treatment at the health camp, their condition deemed critical.

Chandaneswar temple in Balasore district has been bustling with fervour as thousands of devotees gather for Chadak Mela, which has been ongoing for the past month. This annual fair, believed to have roots dating back 200 years, sees devotees adorned in saffron attire as they worship Lord Shiva for a month, adhering to a vegetarian diet.

Over the years, the event has witnessed a surge in devotee participation, attesting to its growing popularity.
