Woman Killed As Pick-Up Truck Overturns; Mob Torches Vehicle

Balasore: A woman was killed after a pick-up truck carrying a Diesel Genset (DG) overturned near Kanpur bridge on Soro-Kupari road on the eve of Holi.

The deceased woman has been identified as Urmila Das of Kanpur in Soro.

Meanwhile, irate family members of the deceased woman set the pick-up truck afire and some locals blocked the road demanding compensation.

According to reports, the woman was returning from a local fair in the Kupari area along with her children.

Suddenly, the A pick-up truck overturned killing Das on the spot.

On being informed, Soro police and Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot and doused the fire. Police persuaded the agitators to vacate the roadblock.
