Youth Congress Members Hurl Eggs at 3 BJD MLAs Over Mamita Meher Murder Allegations

Kalahandi: Youth Congress members in Odisha’s Kalahandi district protested against three BJD MLAs who were travelling to a Teachers’ Day event. The MLAs were Dibya Shankar Mishra (Junagarh), Bhupinder Singh (Narla), and Pradip Kumar Dishari (Lanjigarh).

The protesters opposed the MLAs’ presence at the event, alleging that Junagarh MLA Mishra was involved in the murder of schoolteacher Mamita Meher. They hurled eggs at the MLAs’ vehicles and displayed black flags, demanding that they leave.

The situation escalated as the protesters vocally expressed their opposition to the BJD leaders, creating a disturbance at the venue. Police intervened and brought the situation under control.

The protest highlights the growing tensions between the Youth Congress and the BJD in Odisha. The two parties have been at loggerheads over a number of issues, including the Mamita Meher murder case.

The Youth Congress has accused the BJD of shielding Mishra, who is a close aide of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
