BAN vs IND 3rd ODI: Kuldeep Yadav Added To India Squad

Mumbai: For the third and final ODI against Bangladesh, which will be played on Saturday, December 10 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, India have added Kuldeep Yadav to its squad.

The decision was made following the exit of three Indian players including skipper Rohit Sharma from the third ODI against Bangladesh due to injury. In Rohit’s absence, vice-captain KL Rahul will lead India.

Kuldeep had returned to the Indian limited-overs lineup for the tour to New Zealand, but surprisingly, he was unable to feature in either of the T20I and ODI matches. Prior to the Test series, Kuldeep was slated to go to Bangladesh with the Indian team, but the cricketer from Uttar Pradesh will now come earlier and appears likely to participate in the third game.

However, a decision about Rohit’s availability for the two-match Test series would be made later, according to BCCI.

“India captain Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his thumb in the second over while fielding in the 2nd ODI. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him and he underwent scans at a local hospital in Dhaka. He has flown to Mumbai for specialist consultation and will miss the final ODI. A call on his availability for the upcoming Test series will be taken later,” BCCI said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar is suffering from another hamstring strain, while Kuldeep Sen, who made his debut in the series opener in Mirpur, has been diagnosed with a stress injury.

India will be looking to conclude the series on a high by winning the last ODI and entering the Test series with a lot of confidence despite having already lost the series.

Revised India squad for 3rd ODI against Bangladesh:

KL Rahul (C/WK), Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Shreyas Iyer, Rahul Tripathi, Ishan Kishan (WK), Shahbaz Ahmed, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Siraj, Umran Malik, Kuldeep Yadav.
