DC Coach Ricky Ponting Provides Crucial Update On Rishabh Pant’s Fitness Ahead Of IPL 2024

Delhi Capitals’ head coach Ricky Ponting has provided an encouraging update on Rishabh Pant’s fitness ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Ponting revealed that Pant has started wicketkeeping at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, marking significant progress since his near-fatal car accident in December 2022.

Pant, who has been out of action due to surgeries and rehabilitation, has been undergoing rigorous training to regain full fitness. While Ponting expressed optimism about Pant’s recovery, he emphasized that a final decision on his participation in IPL 2024 is yet to be made by the management.

Ponting highlighted Pant’s dedication and effort in returning to form, stating that the team would greatly benefit from his presence, especially considering his potential captaincy role. Ponting mentioned that Pant has participated in practice matches recently, demonstrating his readiness to contribute on the field.

Pant’s absence in IPL 2023 was deeply felt by Delhi Capitals, who struggled to fill the void left by the talented cricketer.
