Mehidy’s Heroic Helps Bangladesh To Beat India

Dhaka: Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s unbeaten 38-run knock guided Bangladesh to victory by one wicket against India in the first ODI of the three-match series.

Asked to bat first, Team India was bowled out at just a mere total of 186 with KL Rahul top-scoring with 73 runs. Shakib Al-Hasan took five wickets.

Although India kept losing wickets at regular intervals, KL Rahul helped India cross the 150-plus mark.

Rahul, who batted at number five top-scored with a fighting knock of 73 off 70 deliveries, striking five fours and four sixes with a strike rate of 104.29.

Bangladesh’s all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan picked up a five-wicket haul while pacer Ebadot Hossain took four wickets.

In reply, Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s (38*) 51-run stand with Mustafizur Rahman (10*) for the 10th wicket helped Bangladesh chase down the target in 46 overs. Litton Das scored 41 runs.

India’s Mohammed Siraj picked up a three-wicket haul, while debutant Kuldeep Sen and spinner Washington Sundar took two wickets each. Deepak Chahar registered a spell of 8-1-32-1.
