Neeraj Chopra Clinches Gold at Paavo Nurmi Games 2024

Turku (Finland): Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra made a triumphant return to the athletics circuit, clinching the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw at the Paavo Nurmi Games 2024. Chopra’s winning throw of 85.97m topped a competitive field of eight.

Chopra started the event with a solid 83.62m throw, positioning himself as an early contender. Local favourite Oliver Helander briefly took the lead with an 83.96m throw in the second round. However, Chopra’s remarkable third attempt of 85.97m reclaimed the top spot and secured his victory.

Demonstrating consistent performance, Chopra achieved an 82.21m throw in the fourth round. Despite a strategic foul in his fifth attempt, Chopra ended the event on a high note with an 82.87m throw, much to the delight of the cheering crowd.
