This achievement adds to Annu Rani’s growing list of accolades. She previously made history by becoming the first Indian woman to cross the 60-meter mark with a throw of 61.86 meters. Additionally, she holds the current national record of 63.82 meters, achieved at the Indian Open Javelin Throw Competition in 2022.

This victory at the Asian Games comes on the heels of her historic bronze medal win at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where she became the first Indian woman to medal in javelin throwing. Annu Rani’s remarkable journey in the world of javelin throw continues to make her a standout athlete in India’s sporting history.
