IPL 2023: Rajasthan Opt To Bat As Mumbai Look To Turn Things Around On Rohit’s Birthday

Mumbai: Mumbai Indians, who are currently in ninth place in the Indian Premier League, will play their eighth game on April 30 at the Wankhede Stadium against the second-seeded Rajasthan Royals.

The five-time IPL champion squad, MI, has thus far underwhelmed with its play in the current campaign and suffered a humiliating loss in its previous encounter against Gujarat Titans.

It will be the 1000th IPL match at Wandkhede, and it will also be Rohit Sharma’s 36th birthday, making this match even more meaningful. Mumbai has chosen this day to honour him for his 10 years as their captain as well.

The nicest gift the MI team can give Sharma is a victory over the visitors on their own turf. If not, it will be difficult for the MI to resuscitate their campaign.

The confidence of RR is high after their victory over the four-time IPL champion Chennai Super Kings in the previous game. They want to get up to the top of the charts as they are now in second place.
