‘Probably He Hasn’t Seen Rishabh Pant Play’: Rohit Sharma Takes Dig At Ben Duckett Over ‘Credit’ Jibe

Dharamsala: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma brought humour to the pre-final Test press conference, taking a playful jab at England’s Bazball approach and responding to comments by England opener Ben Duckett.

Duckett suggested India’s young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal’s aggressive batting was inspired by Bazball. Sharma countered by reminding him of India’s explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant.

“There was a guy called Rishabh Pant in our team, probably Ben Duckett hasn’t seen him play,” Sharma quipped, drawing laughter from the press.

Sharma’s comments come amidst discussions on Bazball, England’s aggressive batting style under coach Brendon McCullum and captain Ben Stokes. While acknowledging England’s improved performance compared to their 2021 tour, Sharma humorously admitted he wasn’t sure what Bazball truly meant.

“I honestly don’t know what Bazball means,” Sharma said. “England played better cricket this time, but I still don’t understand Bazball.”

Lighthearted banter aside, Sharma praised his team’s resilience throughout the series. “It’s been a series of comebacks,” he said. “Whenever pressured, we bounced back. That was pleasing.”

Looking ahead to the final Test, Sharma expects a typical Indian pitch with movement, especially as temperatures drop. “Looks like a good pitch,” Sharma said, setting the stage for a thrilling series finale.
