Kedarnath Shrine to Reopen for Devotees on May 10

Dehradun: The holy hill shrine of Kedarnath in Uttarakhand will reopen for devotees on May 10. Special rituals ahead of the opening of the doors of the Kedarnath Dham began on Sunday evening.

The rituals started with the worship of Lord Bhairavnath at the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath, the winter seat of Panch Kedar —Kedarnath, Madhmaheshwar, Tungnath, Rudranath, Kalpnath.

On Monday, the ‘Panchmukhi Doli Yatra’, carrying the Panchmukhi Bhogmurti (five-faced idol) of Baba Kedarnath, will depart from Ukhimath to reach the Kedarnath Dham on May 9 in the evening.

The doors of Kedarnath Dham will be opened for devotees at 7 am on May 10.
