3 Nepali Labourers Killed in Forest Fire in Uttarakhand

Dehradun: Three labourers working at a pine resin factory in Almora died of burn injuries while trying to douse a forest fire that had reached their factory. Another worker was seriously injured in the incident is still under treatment.

This information was provided in the daily bulletin issued by the forest department about the damages caused by forest fires in the state.

All the labourers were from Nepal and were not part of the designated fire fighting teams. They received burn injuries while trying to check the forest fire in Gananath range of Almora forest division near their factory on Thursday.

Three of them died while under treatment at a hospital in Almora.

Since November 1, 2023, there have been 868 fire incidents in Uttarakhand in which more than 1,000 hectares of forest land have been destroyed.
