Amit Shah Vows To Eradicate Naxalism in 1-2 Years if PM Modi Gets 3rd Term

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi secures a third consecutive term, their administration will eliminate Naxalism from the country within one to two years.

Shah’s comments follow a recent operation in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district, where 29 Naxals, including a top leader, were neutralized by joint efforts of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the District Reserve Guard (DRG).

Shah emphasized that the BJP government’s intensified crackdown on Naxalism in Chhattisgarh, after assuming power, has significantly contained the extremist activity, now limited to just four districts. Underlining the contrast, Shah criticized the previous Congress regime for inadequate cooperation in addressing the issue.

Responding to Congress’s call for an investigation into the Kanker operation, Shah rebuked the party, accusing them of losing their rationale and cited historical texts to reinforce his stance. He highlighted the Modi government’s efforts, boasting the establishment of 250 security camps in Naxal-infested regions and claiming success in clearing Naxalism from several states.
