Hemant Soren Moves Supreme Court Against High Court’s Delay in Pronouncing Verdict on His Plea Against Arrest

New Delhi: Arrested former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday approached the Supreme Court claiming that the High Court is delaying in pronouncing its verdict on his plea challenging arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in a money-laundering case.

Soren’s legal counsel, Kapil Sibal, told a Bench of the Supreme Court that the High Court had reserved its verdict on February 28 on Soren’s plea but it has not yet delivered the decision. Soren was arrested on January 31 by the ED after he resigned as the Jharkhand Chief Minister.
