UP Teacher Ends Life A Day After Wife’s Death In Accident

Lucknow: A 36-year-old teacher of Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh, Yogesh Kumar committed suicide on Tuesday, a day after his wife, Manikarnika Kumari (28) died in a road accident. Manikarnika was a nurse.

Yogesh and Manikarnika were married six months back.

According to investigating police officials, Yogesh left behind a suicide note in which he wrote, “We will live together and die together.”

On Monday, Manikarnika died in an accident on the Lucknow-Hardoi highway, when an unidentified vehicle knocked Manikarnika off her scooter while she was driving to Tadiyawana primary health centre, where she was posted as a nurse.

Yogesh reached the accident spot, took his wife’s belongings with him, and locked himself in a room after returning home.

When he did not open the door for long, his neighbours broke the door and found Yogesh hanging from the ceiling.
