Ranveer Sigh Lodges FIR Against Deepfake Video Showing Him Endorsing a Political Party

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh registered an FIR against the social media handle that uploaded the deepfake video showing him endorsing a political party.

A week back, a deepfake video of the actor went viral in which the actor could be seen voicing his political opinion.

It was an AI edited portion from an interview the actor gave when he was in Varanasi for a fashion show.

Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson said, “We have filed the police complaint and FIR has been lodged against the handle that was promoting the AI-generated deepfake video of Mr. Ranveer Singh.”

The actor warned the audience on X by writing, “Deepfake se bacho dostonnnn (Beware of deepfake, friends)”.

An AI-edited clip showing Aamir Khan promoting a political party also went viral on social media. The Mumbai Police have registered an FIR regarding it.
