Wife Killed, Husband Critical As Truck Hits Their Scooter in Cuttack

Cuttack: A woman died while her husband was critically injured when the scooter on which they were travelling was hit by a speeding truck near Durga Mandap under Chauliaganj police station limits in Cuttack on Thursday.

The ill-fated couple from the Gatiroutapatna area was travelling to Cuttack for some work when they met with the accident.

Both the husband and wife fell from the two-wheeler when it was hit by the truck from the rear.

As per reports, the wife died on the spot. Her husband was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.

The accident sparked tension in the area. The locals rounded up the driver of the accident-causing truck and handed him over to the police.

Police have seized the truck and detained the driver for investigation.
