Burglars Loot Ornaments & Cash Worth Lakhs From Jewellery Shop In Khordha

Khordha: A jewellery shop at the Ciko Bazar on the New Jagannath Road under Jankia police limits in Khordha was reportedly looted last night. The Looters allegedly stole away gold and silver ornaments worth lakhs of rupees.

Ramesh Chandra Sahoo of Kalarajhar village, the jeweller who was looted, has filed an FIR regarding the incident with the Jankia police.

The jeweller was reportedly headed home last night after closing his store when three miscreants riding a KTM bike suddenly intercepted him and attacked him. Then they took his jewellery made of gold and silver as well as his hard currency.

Ramesh screamed for help but to no avail. He then reported the incident to a store owner in Chhanagiri, where the miscreants had fled. The miscreants managed to escape while some adolescents gathered at Chhanagiri to catch them, leaving behind their bike close to the village crematorium.

Ramesh Sahoo who sustained minor injuries during his altercation with the miscreants went to the medical for primary medical aid and then filed a police report. The motorcycle has been confiscated by the police, who have now launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.
