WATCH: Pak Journalist Mocks Cricket Team, Proposes ‘11 Captains’ Amid Leadership Turmoil

A Pakistani journalist took a jibe at their national cricket team during a live show, ridiculing the teams’s apparent captaincy and unity problems. His comments came amidst Babar Azam’s resignation as Pakistan’s white-ball captain.

The journalist, Mohsin Ijaz suggested that the team should appoint different captains for different areas of the field since, according to him, “all the players think they are captains and don’t listen to anyone.”

“We should assign a captain from deep point to third man, another from fine leg to long on, one for long on to covers, and so on. We could have one for the front V and another for behind the wicket,” he quipped.

Taking his mockery further, Ijaz added, “One captain should be in charge of the batting order, another for bowling decisions, one for media duties, and someone else should stay in the dressing room to serve drinks to the players.”

“We need to accommodate 11 captains and also implement a rotation policy among them so that we don’t disappoint anyone,” he concluded with biting sarcasm.

The Pakistan cricket team has been under fire for their poor performance in the 2023 Cricket World Cup and the 2024 T20 World Cup. Many experts have linked these issues to internal discipline and unity problems, which allegedly intensified after Babar Azam was appointed captain.
