12 Soldiers Killed in Encounters with Militants In Pakistan’s Balochistan

At least 12 Pakistani soldiers died and five were injured in separate encounters with militants Balochistan province of Pakistan. It is said to be the heaviest single-day loss suffered by the Pakistan military in Balochistan.

The militant attacks happened in the Sui and Zhob areas of Balochistan on Wednesday.

At least seven militants were also killed in the two encounters, claimed Pakistan government sources.

Armed militants attacked security forces involved in an operation in Sui. At least three soldiers were killed and five were injured in this attack. The Pakistan Army said that two terrorists were also killed in the exchange of fire.

This incident was followed by another terrorist attack on a military installation in Zhob Garrison, where nine soldiers and five militants were killed. A female passerby died and five other civilians were injured in the crossfire.

A militant group named, Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan, claimed responsibility for the Zhob attack.
