15 Companies of CAPF Reach Odisha Ahead of General Elections

Bhubaneswar: For peaceful, free and fair conduct of the general elections 2024, around 75 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) will be stationed in Odisha.

According to reports, 15 companies of CAPFs have already reached Odisha. In the first phase, these 15 companies of CAPF will be deployed in Jajpur, Angul, Balasore, Puri, Sambalpur, Rourkela, Bhadrak, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Bolangir, Cuttack (Rural), Ganjam (Chhatrapur) and Kendrapara by Saturday evening.

In the second phase, another 60 companies of CAPFs will be deployed in the state. A Committee headed by the Chief Electoral Officer will decide on the deployment of the remaining forces.

The CAPF personnel will support Odisha Police in patrolling, and guarding the EVMs and other enforcement activities during the elections.
