Rs 6.61 Lakh Unaccounted Cash Seized from 2 Vehicles in Nalangir & Sambalpur Districts

Bhubaneswar: In two separate incidents, uncounted cash worth Rs 6.61 lakh was seized from two vehicles during search and checking by the police in Balangir and Sambalpur districts of Odisha.

Police have intensified checking of vehicles ahead of the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in the state.

According to police sources, Rs 5 lakh was seized from a car during checking near Bijakhaman in Balangir district on Monday night.

In Sambalpur district, Rs 1.61 lakh was recovered from a man during vehicle checking near Nildungri gate.

On May 3, police had seized Rs 20 lakh from a car during vehicle checking at Bhadrasahi square under Barbil police station limits in Keonjhar district. The driver of the car fled from the spot.
