Spanish Tourist Gang Raped in Jharkhand by Over 8 Accused

Ranchi: A Spanish woman on a visit to India along with her husband was gang raped on Friday night in Jharkhand’s Dumka by 8 to 10 persons. Jharkhand police have detained three persons in the case.

Jharkhand police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case.

The victim and her husband were in India on a tourist visa. They were on a mega trip around Asia. As part of their bike trip, they explored the Dumka region on two-wheelers. The woman faced sexual assault while the couple was camping in tents in the Kunji village of Dumka in the Hansdiha police station area.

The injured woman undergoing treatment at a hospital in Saraiyahat will be brought to Dumka. An investigation into the case is currently underway and the detained people are being interrogated.
