Ranchi: Security was heightened in the Jharkhand capital Ranchi following a threat by the US-based Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun’s threat to disrupt the fourth Test match between India and England.

Pannun, who is designated as a terrorist by the Home Ministry, also appealed the outlawed CPI (Maoist) organization through a video uploaded on social media to disrupt the match.

The fourth Test will be played at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi from February 23. The England team reached Ranchi on Tuesday.

Gurupatwant Singh Pannun has threatened the India and England teams to cancel the match in Ranchi. He also urged the CPI (Maoist) to create disturbance in a bid to cancel the match.

An FIR has been lodged against Pannun at a police station in Ranchi under the IT Act and an investigation has been initiated.
