Two murder convicts were executed in public in a football stadium in Ghazni city of eastern Afghanistan on Thursday, reported an AFP journalist present at the spot.
Both men were shot dead by multiple gunshots in front of thousands of men who had gathered in the stadium to witness the execution.
Before their killing, an Afghanistan Supreme Court official read aloud a death warrant signed by Taliban Supreme Leader Hibatullah Akhundzada.
Families of the two victims were also present. They were asked if they wanted to grant the condemned a last-minute reprieve. Both families denied pardoning the convicts.
