3 Killed, 40 Injured in Bus-Truck Collision in Nischintakoili of Cuttack

Cuttack: Three persons died and 40 others were injured when a bus and a truck had a head-on collision on Cuttack-Chandbali road near Katarapada under Nischintakoili block of Odisha’s Cuttack district on Tuesday morning.

The ill-fated passenger bus was on its way to Cuttack from Chandbali. At around 7.30 am it collided with a speeding truck coming from the opposite side.

Receiving information, local police and fire services personnel reached the spot to rescue the trapped passengers from the damaged bus.

The injured were admitted to Nischintakoili Hospital for treatment. Four of them were shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital as their condition was critical.

Poor visibility due to morning fog is suspected to be the reason behind the accident.
