5 of a Family Die as Old Railway Quarter Collapses in UP’s Lucknow

Lucknow: An old dilapidated railway quarter collapsed in UP’s Lucknow killing five members of a family including three children on Saturday.

The family got buried in the debris when the roof of an old railway quarter in Fateh Ali Railway Colony of Northern Railway Lucknow Division in Lucknow collapsed on them on Saturday morning.

NDRF personnel recovered the ill-fated five from under the debris. Al of them were later declared dead at Lok Bandhu hospital.

The deceased were identified as Satish Chandra (40), Sarojini Devi (35), Harshit (13), Harshita (10) and Ansh (5).

Around 200 families live in the dilapidated railway quarters in the Fateh Ali Colony of Lucknow.

UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak expressed grief over the accident and gave instructions for immediate relief work.

The Deputy CM assured that all possible help by the government to the remaining relatives of the victims’ family.
