Rape Convict Asaram Bapu Moves High Court for Parole

Jaipur: Rape convict self-proclaimed godman Asaram Bapu approached the Rajasthan High Court seeking for parole. The High Court accepted his plea and on Friday issued a notice to the Rajasthan government seeking a reply in two weeks.

Earlier the concerned District Parole Committee rejected his parole application for a second time stating that his release on parole may cause law and order issues.

Asaram is serving a life sentence following his conviction on April 25, 2018, for sexually assaulting a teenage student of his ashram.
