Odia Woman Killed in Lucknow, Boyfriend Among 2 Arrested

Lucknow: A woman from Odisha was murdered in Lucknow. Two persons including her boyfriend were arrested in connection to her killing.

The body of the Odia woman was found in a car in Vrindavan Colony of Lucknow last week.

The two accused were arrested on Sunday. They were her boyfriend Vishnu Kumar Dwivedi and his aide Anuj Kumar Gupta. Both were from Kanpur.

Vishnu is married and also has a girlfriend. Yet he had trapped the Odia woman to have relations with him. When the woman from Odisha came to know about the realty of Vishnu, she had frequent quarrels with him.

Irked by it, on August 9, Vishnu and Anuj got the woman drunk and then strangled her to death. They left the body in a car, they abandoned. The car is owned by a person of Delhi.

The victim came from a poor family in Odisha. Her parents had to borrow money to reach Lucknow on police call to identify the body, said the police.
