6 Maoists Including 2 Female Cadres Slain in Encounter in Telangana

Hyderabad: Six Maoist cadres including two women were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana on Thursday.

Two Greyhounds commandoes were also injured in the exchange of fire. This gunfight occurred in a forest under the Karakagudem police station limits of the Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

Based on inputs that a group of Maoists from Chhattisgarh had reached Telangana, special police teams took up combing in the area that led to the encounter.

Bodies of the six Maoists were recovered from the spot. They are suspected to be senior cadres. Efforts are on to identify them. Six weapons, including two AK47s, SLRs and others were seized from the spot of the encounter.
