Anti-Poaching Raids: 28 Country Guns Seized Near Similipal

Bhubaneswar: As part of the continuing anti-poaching tirade, Mayurbhanj district police reportedly seized 28 country-made guns from two different places situated on the outskirts of the Similipal Similipal Tiger Reserve on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Badasahi Police Station conducted raids in two different places and seized the country-made guns.

Investigation is on to nab the poachers, who were using these guns.

Two separate cases have been registered at Badasahi police station in relation to this countrymade gun seizure.

On Monday, 18 country-made guns were surrendered by poachers at different places in the Thakurmunda area of the district.

To check poaching in the Similipal area, Mayurbhanj police has launched a special operation named ‘zero tolerance against poaching’.
