Brown Sugar Worth Rs 26 Lakh Seized from 2 Female Drug Traffickers Arrested in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Two female brown sugar traffickers were arrested by the Special Crime Unit of Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar. Around 256 grams of Brown Sugar worth Rs. 26 lakh was seized from the possession of the arrested women.

The Narcotics wing of the Special Crime Unit, conducted a targeted operation on March 22 resulting in the seizure of this huge quantity of brown sugar.

The crime unit team raided the house of one Pragyan Priya Swain, situated in Jadupur, under Khandagiri police station limits.

One of the two females has a post graduate degree in Computer Application from a college in Bhubaneswar. The two accused posing as working women, took the house on rent and were involved in drug trafficking at the behest of their kingpin. The arrested duo was identified as Karishma Rout (30) from Basta in Balasore district and  Prajna Priya Swain (23) from Konark in Puri district. Both worked in a private firm in teh capital city.  The mastermind of this drug syndicate is absconding.
