Commando Electrocuted to Death During Anti-Maoist Operation in Telangana

Hyderabad: A 30-year-old constable of Greyhounds, an elite anti-Maoist force of the Telangana Police, was electrocuted to death during a combing operation in a forest area of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.

The mishap occurred on Sunday night in Kataram mandal. During the anti-Maoist operation, the Greyhounds Commando, A Praveen came in contact with the electric trap set by poachers to hunt wild animals. He was electrocuted to death on the spot.

Through an official release, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed condolences on the death of the commando.

Telangana Forest officials were directed to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident and initiate action against the poachers responsible for the death of the Greyhounds commando.
